Organizations shape nearly every aspect of our lives. Throughout my career, I have been fascinated by one question:
Why do some organizations consistently become stronger while others never realize their full potential?
That question has guided every stage of my professional life—from enterprise systems consulting and executive financial leadership to authorship, executive education, and executive advisory.
Today, I help business owners, CEOs, executive teams, and boards build organizations that perform today and endure tomorrow.
My career has spanned enterprise consulting, executive financial leadership, business transformation, publishing, executive education, and organizational research. While the roles have changed over time, the questions that have driven my work have remained remarkably consistent.
Those questions continue to shape my consulting, teaching, writing, and research today.
Many people assume I built my career around finance. In reality, I built my career around organizations. Finance simply provided the most comprehensive view of how organizations function.
Every strategic initiative, operational decision, leadership challenge, and investment ultimately influences financial performance. That perspective allows me to help leaders think beyond accounting and toward building organizations that are stronger, healthier, and more capable over the long term.

Early in my career, I was invited to help edit a business manuscript that was later published by Simon & Schuster. That experience showed me that ideas could continue helping leaders long after a consulting engagement had ended. Since then, writing has become another way to serve organizations through practical ideas, historical lessons, and leadership frameworks. Today my publications include:
Some of my greatest leadership lessons have come from history, travel, personal experiences, and the careful observation of organizations. Those experiences continually reinforce one belief:
Organizations are intentionally built.
That conviction has shaped every consulting engagement, every presentation, every article, and every book I have written.
I've always been fascinated by what makes organizations succeed.
Throughout my career, I've studied leadership, finance, organizational design, business strategy, enterprise systems, and emerging technologies—not as separate disciplines, but as interconnected parts of building stronger organizations.
That pursuit has led me from enterprise consulting and executive financial leadership to writing, executive education, and research. Today, it also includes exploring how artificial intelligence can help leaders make better decisions, redesign business processes, and improve organizational performance.
My commitment is simple: to remain a student of organizations for life. By continually learning, researching, teaching, and applying new ideas, I hope to help leaders build organizations that are not only more successful today, but stronger for generations to come.
